Braincore Neurofeedback

BRAINCORE NEUROFEEDBACK

Treatments &  Services

Neurofeedback treatment is designed to help the brain function more optimally.  Brainwave dysregulation can be the cause of  negative symptoms of disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD.  Through Neurofeedback training sessions the brain learns how to better regulate itself and become more ordered.  As these changes occur, negative symptoms can be decrease or elimintated.

What is Braincore Neurofeedback Treatment?

Neurofeedback is painless, natural, non-invasive way to train the brain to function more properly.  The process includes taking a map of the brains activity using QEEG technology.  Once problem areas are identified, specific brain training occurs to help those problem areas correct themselves.

How Does Neurofeedback Treatment Work?

During a Neurofeedback training session the client is hooked up to a computer using wires and sensors. The sensors are pasted to the scalp over the area of the brain that is being trained. These sensors are monitoring the client’s brainwave activity in real time. The software automatically detects when the brainwaves are properly ordered and it feeds that information back to the patient. The feedback appears in the form of a movie which signals to the patient that the brainwaves are becoming more ordered.  The movie will get brighter and the sound will get louder as the brainwaves normalize.  If the brainwaves become dysregulated, the screen will become darker and the sound will go down, signaling to the brain that things are out of order. The brains natural desire to watch the movie clearly, and at its highest resolution and best volume, will motivate the brain to keep itself regulated so that it gets that reward. As it continues to get that reward, it will learn how to keep the screen brighter for longer periods of time. This process is known as Operant Conditioning. As the brain goes through this process the brainwave patterns are normalizing and the negative symptoms caused by the dysregulated pattern will start to be reduced or eliminated.

What To Expect During Neurofeedback Treatment?

During the initial evaluation, a map of the client’s brainwave activity is recorded. Using a QEEG Evaluation (the same thing used by doctors during sleep studies), we are able to gather data about the clients brain activity.  This involves placing a snug cap on the client’s head that has sensors that are recording brainwave activity at 12 sites on the skull. These sensors are non-invasive and do not put any electrical current into the brain. They are simply gathering information regarding the dimensions of brainwave activity. Once the software records the brain wave activity, it generates a report showing us the areas of the client’s brain that may be dysregulated. This report also tells us which brainwaves we need to train, and the type of training we need to do with those waves to help them become more regulated or organized.

When Do I Need Neurofeedback Treatment?

If you have symptoms from ADHD, anxiety, or other menta health issues, Neurofeedback may help to reduce or eliminate these symptoms.  If you have tried medication but have been frustrated by negative side effects or ineffectiveness overall, Neurofeedback is another option.

Why you should seek Neurofeedback Treatment

During a Neurofeedback training session, the clients brain is learning how to regulate itself.  Because this is a training the brain is learning how to do it on it's own.  With enough practice and training the brain will be able to keep regulating itself long after the training sessions are completed.  A typical case will require 30 to 40 training sessions to acheive desired results.

What Symptoms Does Braincore Neurofeedback Treat?

In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy (as Neurofeedback) it would be universally accepted and widely used.
